You can send me a message or post a comment below when a link is not working or if you have a suggestion, doubts or questions about these installers.

  • The comments on pages are working! You can now submit comments on
individual pages. This is a test comment for the Custom Installers downloads page.

  • AltaiR

Ah finally! Thanks for the setups, especially the “lite” versions of the software.
There is some misinformation about the iTunes though. I’d mention it there but there is no place to comment. The English only Conrad installers do not work for iPod Nano 5th gen because those require Mobile Device Support. Maybe Conrad could make a lite, English only version of the Mobile Device Support to complement his setup. That would be nice and very much appreciated.

    • I will try to reach him and see if he is willing to do it. You can also take the installer, extract, add Mobile Device Support and pack it again. There are plenty of guides for doing that. Perhaps I should write a quick How to about unpacking and making switchless installers.

PS: I didn’t allow comments for custom installers in other place than this page so we can all keep up in the same page and not have different comments in other pages.

      • AltaiR

I meant editing installer, for eg, removing unneeded language files. There are a LOT in iTunes and Mobile Device Support alone. Simply deleting them from the installer does not work.

In the Custom Installers page, the link “Custom Installers” under the Downloads section links back to the same page. Not sure you meant it that way.

        • When I was removing languages from iTunes I only did it within the iTunes setup. I left the other components unmodified. You can install the original Mobile Device Support after installing Conrad’s installer.

I will write a quick guide on how to unpack and modify switchless installer. Check back tonight.

I didn’t understand what you meant by linking back to the same page. Right now, there are three pages for custom installers. The main one, which has the description and usage. The Downloads page which has the main on as parent and the iTunes description page.

Would you care to elaborate on exactly which link(s) direct to the same page? Thanks!

    • I wrote a quick guide to make a switchless installer. You can find it here: http://rubenalamina.mx/2013/07/17/making-a-7-zip-switchless-installer/

Extract Conrad’s installer to a folder and create an AIP for Mobile Device Support using that folder as TARGETDIR. Follow the guide and you will end up with the English-only installer + Mobile Device Support.

First of all, you can’t imagine what a resource you provide. I use your site religiously. πŸ™‚ Secondly, I can’t seem to get the uTorrent link to work. Maybe it’s on my end (I use IDM, but have tried changing the connections to 1 and even disables it and tried to no avail. Keep up the amazing work!

    • The download link is fixed now. Please try again. Thanks for the kind words!

    Since January 2014 I can’t download anything.

    • I will look into it in a couple of hours when I get home. The download were working fine before an update of the plugin I’m using for logging download counts. I’ll let you guys know when I fix that error.

    • The downloads are working again! Tomorrow (Sunday) I will post several updated installers.

Can you add the pause button in the toolbar pls. Also I have to uninstall utorrent every time to update with the msi installer.
P.S. The installer contains some u torrent junk- Purge it pls.

    • The pause button was removed in recent uTorrent builds and there is no way, as far as I know, to add it. Try reaching to the devs and ask them to add it back. What do you mean by utorrent junk?

The next build I make for the installer I will address the versioning issue so you can upgrade current installations properly. MSI only takes into account the first x.x.x number on versions and ignores the rest.

      • z

The apps folder and the dlimagecache folder’s contents are a waste of space.
Can you remove the social media buttons in the status bar? Also presetting the values in the attached image will be useful.
Thank you for the apps. Can you attempt AIMP3/ PotPlayer too?

        • There is a new version of uTorrent (3.4.1) I will remove those folders and also will fix the issues some have while upgrading previous versions of this installer.

There is nothing I can do t remove the social icons as they are part of the compiled app.

You can try to make your own installer for AIMP3 or PotPlayer. Give it a try and if you get stuck with something, I can help you. I would start with portable versions if they have one.

This way it’s only a matter of customizing the options and then using an authoring system like Inno Setup or NSIS. You can also extract their installers to inspect what they do. See my answer to dav above.

          Regards!

  • dav

    Can you add Ybex Clipboard?

    • Hi. I’m open to suggestions on new installers but I try to focus on popular programs that family, friends and clients use.

I took a peak into it and the installer is very simple. If you want to incorporate settings or other files you will need to get into the registry or see where it stores its configuration.

You can make your own by using Universal Extractor (download my installer). Extract the files with it and you can use any installation software. Look at the screenshot below to see the files you need. They will be inside the {app} folder after the extraction.

      http://i.imgur.com/2TyQtTJ.png

If you don’t have experience and don’t need an MSI installer, you can use Bytessence InstallerMaker. It’s simple anough and you can author an exe installers with no knowledge. http://www.bytessence.com/bim.html

There are more robust options that are also free like Inno or NSIS but you need more time to learn their sintax and features.

  • Drakonas

Would you be able to reupload Skype 6.13.64.104? The 6.14 version was an update for Windows 8, and has certain issues on Windows 7. (double RAM usage, more resource problems for Win 7) Plus, 6.14 added the cat icon, when typing “:3”. This is heavily annoying for most of my friends, including myself. While the origin of the text emote might be cat-related, none of my friends think of a cat when using it.. I expect most others do the same.

    • I just uploaded 6.16.60.105 a few minutes ago. Try this new version and see how it goes with resource usage on Windows 7.

      • Drakonas

Cool! But where’d the beautiful interface go?

        • It seems they are still experimenting with the new UI. They removed it in this version but I guess it will be back soon.

          • Drakonas

Well. I see no difference in performance… Watching RAMMap and PerfMon and…. dangit… this version fixed the 30 MB/s average disk writing and constant 2-5% CPU usage that Skype was doing 100% of the time. :/ Guess I’ll have to live without the pretty UI for a while… Man that sucks…

          • Perhaps that’s the reason they ditched the new UI until they fixed some bugs. Try looking in Skype forums for that problem and maybe you can find a link to download a previous build with the new UI but without the disk trashing. Regards!

          • Drakonas

Well this problem was there with a 6.14 version I used to have (old Windows install. Just reinstalled this morning), but it didn’t have the slick UI change… I think it was 6.14.1.104

          • They have a quick pace for their releases so I guess it’s only a matter or time we see the UI back. Regards!

  • FindingAtlantis

Hi, what’s the difference between Itunes and Itunes modified by Conrad? Is one better than the other??

    • Conrad takes my installers and removes all languages except English. My installers contain all languages.

      • FindingAtlantis

Since my original post, I have come to learn the differences. I installed his version because I thought it would work with my ipod. Big mistake. It would not recognize my ipod, and I spent over an hour tweaking everything on my PC installing and reinstalling things. Then I realized he took out Apple Mobile Device support, which is required for my ipod to be detected. Then I downloaded your version, and installed it over his, but that still didn’t help detect my ipod (possibly choppy install?). I then used the search function on my PC to manually delete every instance of “apple” or “itunes” from my PC, since I couldn’t find a way to automatically uninstall the switchless installation. Then I started again, installing a clean copy of your iTunes and now my ipod is detected, and everything is good! I just wish I knew about the lack of Apple Mobile Device support earlier, and it would be nice to be able to uninstall a switchless installation.

But thank you for even making this custom Itunes, and hope you continue releasing updates!

Could you relist the last iTunes 11 version? I’m having issues where iTunes 12 won’t recognize devices below iOS7.

    • Have you uninstalled previous versions, rebooted and tried again? I don’t have iDevices with iOS 6 or previous versions to try. If you can’t make it work, I will post the links to my previous installers for iTunes 11. Regards!

      • MurderOfPoes

I was using the English only version that you have available here and it wouldn’t detect the iPod. Worked fine with the other one.
Regardless, I should have saved the 11 installer, I really dislike the new UI. If you could post the link to those installers anyway, it would be great.
        Thanks!

I did include the 64-bit version in my build. Since I also remove the Mobile Device Support, and the files are co-mingled between that and Apple Application Support, I always start my builds with a clean AAP. I don’t think I ever realized that it even had the wrong one to begin with.

Hi Everyone, I have recently tried to install cyanogenmod on my kindle fire 2nd generation as the device is more restricted than ios in customisation. I was testing out fastboot with my factory cable and I typed ‘fastboot reboot’ to try and reboot the device. The problem that I have is that it just stays on the screen and does nothing. I have installed the kindle fire adb drivers and tested it with adb and it shows my device fine but fastboot just wont work. I have seen other kindles and the fastboot screen says ‘Fastboot’ (in wordart) and then underneath it says ‘kindle fire’. Mine says Fastboot in fiery red letters with a green light flashing underneath. Have I got a fake/broken fastboot cable or have I just done something wrong down the line. When I look under device manager, there is a MTP with a yellow triangle and also ‘Android composite ADB device’ under kindle fire. There is a photo of my device manager and my computer with the fastboot screen for extra detail. If anyone knows about this could they please help he with this dilema.

Just downloaded iTunes 12.2.0.145 Switchless. Half way through extraction, error came out, “7-Zip: Unsupported method”. Using Windows 7 32bit.

    • I can decompress the file using 7-Zip (the latest version which is available here in my site) and WinRAR. There was no problem but I don’t have a 32-bit system in which to test it.

You can verify the MD5 checksum of my 32-bit installer: 134F129AA42126D87CFE15860F70BB78. If it’s different, download it again. Also, try decompressing the files with 7-Zip or WinRAR and see if they can be extracted correctly.

Let me know if you got it to work.

      • aLieN911

I have downloaded twice and both times the installer aborted with the same error (during extraction). The MD5 checksum is valid. WinZip extracted the installer with no error. Can I just execute MSI files individually – iTunes then Application Support then Device Support from there? Is this the correct file sequence?

        • A long time ago there was a report with an error like the one your are getting but I don’t remember what caused it. The sequence you mentioned is the the one I use.

Let me know if you got it working by installing it manually.

Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out.
I was trying to install iTunes, the 64-bit alternate version. As I run the .exe file it starts extracting but then it says: “7-zip: Unsupported Method”.
I don’t know what to do and I really, really need iTunes so, could you, please, help me?
    Thanks!

    • Hi. That error some of you are getting I think comes from the sfx module I’m using using and I will update it in the next version.

In the mean time, decompress the installer with WinRAR or 7-Zip and run the three separate MSI files. You can use the /qb /norestart switchess to
install them silently in the Windows Run dialog (Win+R). The order of
      the files is: iTunes.msi, AppSupport.msi and MobileDeviceSupport.msi.

      • Matilde Pereira

Thank you, I did it right after I saw someone with the same problem. its working perfectly now.

FYI, iTunes 12.2.1.16 Switchless still has this “7-zip: Unsupported Method” error on Windows 7 (32-bit) πŸ™

      • As stated in the accompanying post I wrote for that release, I’m still making time to do proper tests on the SFX module, which is most probably the cause of that error. Hopefully in the coming week I can do that.

        Thanks and regards!

        • aLieN911

Noted with thanks! FYI, I extracted it manually and installed the 3 individual installer separately.

          • Installing them manually is the quickest way to overcome the “Unsupported Method” error. I’m still trying to find time to modify and test different versions of the SFX module I use for my switchless installers. Regards!

  • Ahmed Ȝzzat

it keep telling me error in extract, 7-zip related error

I am getting a 7-Zip error with the “iTunes x64 12.2.1.16 Switchless Old Video Cards.exe” install file. Have you had anyone else report this? I updated to the latest version of 7-Zip and I am still getting the same error.

    Thanks — John

    • People have sent that same report already. I will investigate and fix it in the next release. In the meantime, you can extract the files manually and install them manually with switches (silently). Read the latest post of the iTunes release, I wrote instructions on how to do it.

      No “Apple Mobile Device Service”

      • What exactly is not working? Did you get an error message about Apple Mobile Device Service? Try using the Old Video Cards 64-bit installer instead of the regular 64-bit one. Regards!

I got an error installing the iTunes 12.3.2.35 Switchless English.

    It reads:

An error occurred during the installation of assembly
    ‘Microsoft.VC80.CRT type=”win32″,version=”8.0.50727.6195″, publicKeyToken=”1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b”,processorArchitecture=”amd64″‘.
Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80073715.

I kept receiving this error and some others when trying to download the standard installer of Apple’s website. If you could offer me any advice I’d really appreciate it.

    • Please try to install the Old Video Cards installer either by me or the original Old Video Cards by Apple. That may do it but let me know if you still have problems. Regards!

Hi,is it possible to add shortcuts to desktop after install to BurnAware Free 8.8,Skype 7.18.0.112,uTorrent 3.4.5.41801? tnx

    • Hi. My installers don’t have that option built in but you can make desktop shortcuts via command line with a .bat or .cmd file. I can’t recall from memory the commands but any ms-dos reference shloid have them, just google it.

7-Zip Unsupported Method on iTunes new version x64 (old video cards), I try to Extract the files but when I open the itunes.exe file, appears only two options: Repair or Uninstaller. I think is the previous version (12.3.2.35). Any help?

    • Clear you temp files folders (Google how if you don’t know) and run the installer again. If you still get the same error, extract all the files manually and run the msi files in this order: iTunes.msi, AppSupport.msi, MobileDeviceSupport.msi.

You need to open the iTunes installer with 7-Zip or WinRAR. Here’s a screenshot of WinRAR as an example.

Just wanted to make certain you were aware that iTunes v12.4.1.x has been out for awhile. If you’re still busy, I understand. Also, if you’d like a hand, just let me know.

    • My vacation trip took more than the planned two weeks πŸ™‚

I’m retuning home on Sunday night and I should have everything up to date and published on Monday night.

I’ll be able to maintain the installers like before. In case I need help, I’ll let you know. Thanks and regards!

Itunes 12.4.2 has been out for several days.
I don’t see any updates in this site for awhile, are you ok?

    • I just returned and all the installers are updates. iTunes is already at 12.4.3.1. Thanks and regards.

  • ghysler

Thanks for the updated iTunes installers!
However iTunes 12.4.3.1 Switchless – x64 Old Video Cards, contains the older version 12.3.2.35 of iTunes. Can you fix this?

    • I usually hunt down the official Apple download page for the Old Video Cards installer but this time I trusted Softpedia to have it updated just as they had the x86 and x64 versions. Give me a little so I can modify the correct one and publish it again. It should be ready in the afternoon. Thanks for the report and regards!

    • The correct version is already on my server πŸ™‚
